Dr. LaTosha Flowers
Dr. Flowers attended the University of California, Davis where she received her B.S. in Animal Physiology. She was one of three African American students in this major at the time. Achieving the Dean’s Honor List during her first year of college was no small feat and helped to set the tone for her successful college experience.  While a student, Dr. Flowers participated in several community service organizations working with youth and highlighting solutions for then current social issues. She was also a member of both Health Science Careers Organization and the SNMA- Student National Medical Association. Finally, Dr. Flowers was a calculus tutor for many students including some with learning disabilities.
Next, she attended a graduate program, MEDPREP, at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where she was able to grow her medical community with other aspiring physicians who now represent several fields of medicine.  In this program Dr. Flowers was asked to publish her first written article in which she recanted her meeting with the former U.S. Surgeon General and Historical icon, Dr. Jocelyn Elders, who was appointed by former President Bill Clinton.

Later Dr. Flowers received her medical doctrate from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. While there, she married one of her classmates and became the proud mother of her vivacious and loving son, Marquis. She maintained her membership in the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) and also began public speaking on various topics for youth audiences. During her senior year, Dr. Flowers received the Senior of the Year Award for Family Medicine, which was truly an honor that she is proud of.
With her concierge practice, she wants to empower patients to create the health that allows them to live a full, satisfying life.  She lives by the African proverb, " Each one, teach one" and works diligently to build stronger communities surrounding her.
Finally, Dr. Flowers completed her residency training in Family Medicine at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX.  Due to her training she acquired several skills for inpatient and outpatient procedures and care. Preferring to focus on preventive healthcare she quickly became compassionate in educating her patients on proper nutrition, medicine compliance, exercising, and more to help them avoid hospital stays when possible.

Since Family Medicine encompasses many facets of healthcare, Dr. Flowers is experienced in primary care, urgent care, geriatrics, hospice, occupational care and she even added a sub-specialty in peripheral neuropathy to her list of skills. She has worked in multiple healthcare settings including military units nationwide. Dr. Flowers has a sincere compassion to help others live their best life, which is evident in her care for patients.  With her concierge practice, she wants to empower patients to create the health that allows them to live a full, satisfying life.  She lives by the African proverb, " Each one, teach one" and works diligently to build stronger communities surrounding her.
Greatness is not achieved when you work to inflate yourself but namifests when you work to care for or inspire others.

World Traveler on a Mission

With having visited more than 25 states in the U.S., West Africa, multiple countries in Europe, Central America, and the Caribbean I am well on my way to achieve my lifelong travel goals.  I began traveling abroad at the age of 17 years old and love experiencing new cultures, the people and their cuisines.  I’ve even married my love for travel with my love for medicine by including medical mission trips to help communities at a further reach.
